Mountain Biking Etna – Easy and Easy Plus the two in one tour, able to satisfy everyone’s needs, which bornes from our desire to give moments of relaxation immersed in nature by practicing Mountain biking.

Mountain Bike excursion on Etna, with a stop at the Galvarina hut in the Easy version and at the Palestra hut in the Easy Plus version.

Unique landscapes and paths never too demanding make this MTB tour suitable for all people who want a mountain bike path on Etna volcano, easy and rich in landscapes and unforgettable memories.

We of Sicily Bike Tourist Service, thanks to the many years of experience in the tourism sector in MTB, we have deliberately chosen to give two options at a single price.

In fact, even if you book the version Easy, based on you technical skills, you will have the opportunity to continue and transform the Easy tour, into Easy Plus, at no additional cost.
If you want a simple excursion in mountain bike that does not need to be tested, choose the Easy version, this is the tour for you.

If you want something more than just a walk, or you want to dare more… we will know what to offer, in fact once you get to the Galvarina hut, the guide in charge of the service can suggest, without any additional cost, to transform the Easy version, in Easy Plus, and to reach the next hut, called “Palestra”. Evaluated your physical abilities, once again, the guide will decide whether to continue the tour for new trails or retrace your steps. Naturally, the duration of the tour does not it should exceed 2 hours (approximately).

Description of Tours in MTB.

Easy Path

From Piano Vetore (about 1,750mt) we will drive in Mountain Bike to Pista Altomontana (Etna south) through a lava gravel road, easy to take and free of large height differences, we will cross places characterized by lava scenery and breathtaking landscapes. We will stop at the Galvarina hut (about 1,850mt) to enjoy the last scenarios before going back on our tracks.

N.B. Basic path, technically feasible with a normal physical preparation.

Duration of the trail cycled, including stops, 2 hours (approx), 12 km (about).

Duration of the tour including pick-up service (round trip) 4/5 hours (about).

MTB path: Medium/Easy, 95% Off Road.

Easy “Plus” Path

From Piano Vetore (about 1,750mt) we will drive in Mountain Bike to Pista Altomontana (Etna south) through a lava gravel road, easy to take and free of large height differences, we will cross places characterized by lava scenery and breathtaking landscapes. We will stop at the Galvarina hut (about 1,850mt) then continue towards the Palestra hut (about 1,900mt).

In this context, the guide will decide, according to yours ability, whether to use the same path or change tracks and down along a single track, immersed in an old lava flow, rich in lava stones and sand, which will lead to descend of about 150mt along the south side of the volcano. From there we will climb along a sandy dirt road, but not too insidious, until you get back to the Galvarina hut,

intercepting again part of the track traveled for the first leg, and using it until you enter a new path full of funny up and down, then we will finish the excursion to Piano Vetore.

N.B. Orientatively this is the description of the path, in any case, will be the guide in charge of the service, at its discretion, to evaluate according to your technical/physical skills, the timing with which you will be able to reach certain goals, as time estimated for the excursion is 2 hours (approx), unless otherwise agreed in the booking process.

MTB path: Medium difficulty, 100% Off Road.

Prices:

* € 65.00 – 1 participant (exclusive reservation of the Tour).

* € 45.00 – each person, for a minimum of 2 participants for a maximum of 4 participants (exclusive reservation of the Tour).

For more than 4 participants, quote on request.

20% discount on the cost of the Tour, with a minimum of 2 participants, applicable exclusively to online reservations (E-Mail or WhatsApp) at least 15 days before the date chosen for the tour.

* Included in the price: Pick-up service from our Meeting Point in Catania to the Start Point of the Tour (round trip), certified MTB guide, Mountain Bike (FLAT pedals), helmet, backpack, wind jacket, water bottle (500ml), energy drink (500ml), energy bar and insurance coverage RC.

We mean EXTRA, the pick-up/shuttle service, to and from your Hotel or B&B, quote on request.

If you can reach the starting point of the Tour independently and do not want to use the pick-up service, contact us for a quote.

We recommend: Technical/sports clothing suitable for mountain biking, trekking/tennis shoes (we also have the possibility to mount SPD pedals to give you the opportunity to use your technical cycling shoes, but the request must be made when booking), gloves, glasses sun or cycling, sunscreen (summer season).
