E-MTB experience on the Etna volcano, to discover the summit craters, aimed at all Mountain Biking lovers who want to test themselves with a one of a kind excursion.
To conquer the summit Craters at an altitude of 2.750 mt on the south side of the Etna volcano, with a path that starts from an altitude of 1.530 mt from Contrada Milia (South Etna).
E-Bike Tour, starting from Piano Vetore, Etna South (approximately 1.750 mt). We will ride in the direction of Contratda Milia where a dense wood and the first climbs await us to conquer Mount Etna by E-MTB.
The first part of the path will be characterized by challenging climbs among the majestic trees of the Bosco della Milia. Once out of the woods, the spectacle of the scenery, including lava flows and old craters, will cheer your view, giving you a feeling of majesty. Subsequently, we will use a dirt road on a sandy surface to continue our E-Bike adventure, which will take us towards the Santa Barbara cave, where we will make a well deserved first stop to admire the cave and the majestic Monte Nero crater.
After the stop we will continue our ride with another fantastic trail full of technical climbs and exciting descents towards Monte Vetore.
Once this trail is over, an E-Bike transfer on asphalt, of about 2 km, awaits us and will take us towards the Etna Cable car (south side).
This will be the moment when the tour really comes to life; the majestic craters, lunar landscapes and breathtaking views will accompany us on one of the most fascinating and challenging sandy climbs you've ever done. We will continue our ride through steep hairpin bends with little grip that will lead us to conquer the Etna Volcano, where you will have the opportunity to admire the volcanic cones at high altitude, such as the always active South East crater of Etna and the magnificent lava flows and lunar valleys surrounding these areas.
For the return to Piano Vetore we will use again part of the path used for the outward journey.

This E-MTB Experience can also be carried out with the muscular MTB. For all those who really want to test themselves with normal MTB, Sicily Bike Tourist Service will offer a discount of €15.00 per PAX.
1- There is no visit to the central crater, please note that the maximum altitude reachable for this E-Bike experience is 2750 above s.l., as it is only allowed to authorized volcanological guides to exceed this limit.
2- Please note that this tour is subject to various factors, such as volcanic eruptions and adverse weather conditions.
In the case of volcanic eruptions, by order of the Prefect, the area is closed with the impossibility of reaching an altitude of 2750 mt; in some cases access is allowed up to 2500 mt of the Rifugio Bar Funivia dell'Etna, but, depending on the circumstances, sometimes this possibility is also excluded, in the latter case it is necessary to cancel the tour.
In the case of adverse weather conditions, it must be considered that it becomes risky to reach high altitudes, furthermore even a simple wind at high altitudes becomes a factor to be evaluated with extreme delicacy. Last but not least, the snow cover on the paths at high altitude must always be considered, which could make the experience impossible.
For all the factors mentioned above we recommend booking this tour in the summer period. However, our possible cancellation of the tour in the summer and in the winter period must be taken into consideration due to the factors specified above and above all due to volcanic eruptions.
Naturally, we will take care of offering you other alternatives before proceeding with the cancellation of the tour and any refund of the advance paid due to climatic or eruptive factors.
